Confederate Alteration of an 1816 Starr from the Ben Michel collection and pictured in the catalogue. Mr. Michel notes that this bolster alteration with rounded bottom and lockplate filed to fit bolster is typical of those alterations done by the Union Manufacturing Co. of Richmond, VA.
