Description:
Serial #M25299, .22 L.R., 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an L.S.A.-made, 190(?) dated rifle that has conversion markings on the wrist band: “SHT.22/III” stamped below the original production markings and “22No.2” on the bolt head. The metal of this nice rifle retains 85-90% of the armory blue finish applied during the conversion and has plum-brown freckling and gray fading along the high edges and surfaces, particularly on the non-matching numbered bolt. The receiver has had the charger loading assembly milled flush while the magazine cut-off plate has been removed. The replacement stock and handguards have numerous light-moderate handling marks under the added varnish finish with a standard (and complete) .303 magazine included and the rifle rates very good-near fine condition overall. {Ref. “The Lee-Enfield A Century of Lee-Metford & Lee-Enfield Rifles & Carbines” by Ian Skennerton; 2007} FFL or C&R
