Description:
SOLD A fine and very rare sterling silver pin that was made in the early 1930's by Tiffany & Co. New York City, N.Y. Thompson and his wife had Tiffany & Co. make approximately 45-50 of these pins in sterling silver and had 3 of them made in gold. They were given as gifts at a party they hosted "Friends of Auto Ordnance". This one is in silver and gilded and is correctly hallmarked "Tiffany & Co. Sterling" on the bottom edge of the butt stock. Bill Ruger had one of these in his collection that was dispayed at the NRA Museum. The pin measures just over 2 1/4 inches wide. The pin has a Tiffany & Co. patented locking closure on the pin itself. They are seldom seen or offered for sale. A fine and unique piece of Americana that would be of special interest to the Thompson Sub-Machine Gun Collector.
