Description:
Fox Sterlingworth 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun
PHILLY GUN, EXTRA FACTORY ENGRAVED

Most will agree the Fox Sterlingworth 16ga. is the best value for a fine small gauge vintage American double in today's marketplace bate.  Always built on the 20ga. frame, balanced delightfully between the hands, weighing just 6lbs. 2oz., this particular Sterlingworth, sn350892, is better than most in that it was built during the early years with great care for wood to metal fit, checkering, and overall fit and finish.  The gun has seen use over the 100 years it has done its job, but has been well cared for, with no cracks or repairs, great bores, perfect screws, and the original butt plate.  Interestingly it has extra engraving on the receiver.  I have seen this before on other first year Sterlingworth guns and it is a unique feature.  Priced affordably, it is a great bird or clays gun for your rainy days or rough terrain and will function flawlessly as you enjoy carrying a piece of American history.  Most Sterlingworths have excessive drop at heel and comb, but this gun has nice modern dimensions.  If you like a "pretty gun" this one is a perfect candidate for a full restoration, as it is all in great condition wood and metal wise.  Of course, that can be done through our shop for as little as $1200 added cost even with Turnbull case colors.
