Description:
Serial #010971, 9mm, 4 3/4” barrel with fine, bright bore that has a very small amount of mild freckling within the grooves. This rare pistol has matching numbers on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block with the metal retaining 95-97% of the original commercial quality blue finish that has silvered lightly at the muzzle as well as on the projecting edges and bearing surfaces (most noticeably at the front edge of the slide). All of the Walther and Waffenamt markings are crisp and clear and there is a small and unobtrusive import mark on the underside of the barrel. The original white and red paint is still present within the “F” and “S” indicators and the dark brown phenolic resin grips, correct on guns numbered above 010000, are in excellent shape with only a few very minor surface scratches and small blemishes. The pistol comes with one Waffenamt marked unnumbered magazine and is an excellent example of a very early and rare Walther P.38 that would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
