Description:
COLT 1851 LONDON NAVY REVOLVER.
Cal. 36. Serial# 195668,, 7 1/2" octagon barrel with London address. Large iron trigger guard and backstrap. Typical English Shape One Piece walnut grip. The serial number is on the barrel, frame and cylinder.
The grip strap & wedge are matching.. Loading lever is unnumbered. The original blue finish has faded to dark patina with spots of pitting having been stored in the Navy Flap Holster, which also has about 60% original finish, with flakes and patches of finish. The holster has a tear to the belt loop, but is intact. This is a Typical Civil War issued holster with harness rivets that secure the tab on the flap. It still has a Cheyenne plug in the toe.
Partially visible cylinder scene. The English Walnut grips show moderate wear. The Bore has spots of pitting.
These were well-liked and hard-used arms. It's tough to find them with any condition and this NEAT RIG is very fairly priced and would look great displayed with a basic Civil War Collection.
