LARGE ITALIAN PERCUSSION .69 CAL. RIFLED NAVAL PISTOL DATED 1864. 20 ½” overall with 13” round 4 groove “Minie” type rifled barrel with “CROWN/SHIELD” proof and inspector’s initials at the breech. Bolster with oval maker’s touch mark “CROWN/RA” stamped above the Terni Arsenal “TA/1864” acceptance mark. Original belt hook and ramrod. Brass trigger guard and butt cap. Excellent plus overall with all the blackened original stock finish and extra fine metal with most of the original military dull brushed polish. Excellent to near mint bore. Working order. Dates to the period of the Wars of the Unification of Italy ca. 1850-70 which included various Naval battles and expeditions. Very scarce.
