Description:
EARLY NAZI MAUSER LUGER K DATE GOTHIC S/42 or S-42 SEMI AUTO 9MM PISTOL CIRCA 1934 WITH HOLSTER. All original Pre WW2 Nazi German Army issue produced in 1934. Rare K date for the year of manufacture and having the added rare Gothic “S”/ 42 toggle stamp. Correct “S” stamps on the trigger guard, both sides of the frame, trigger, magazine release button, take down lever and safety. All matching (except both magazines) third variation serial numbered in the 6,xxx range without suffix or prefix. Excellent overall with approximately 95% pre-war blue overall. Straw finish faintly visible on take-down lever(S stamped as well) and trigger as well as safety bar and safety lever under blue. NOT a post war refinish. Fine grips which are original to the gun and numbered as so on both flats. All internal parts are numbered to the gun as well as corresponding "S" stamps. Excellent, bright bore and perfect working order. Original later holster dated 1941 that came with it. Only 3500 of this variation made and has a low survival rate for a Nazi Luger because of it’s early production. All of these saw long service from 1934 thru the end of the War in 1945 with this a particularly nice example in much better condition than usually seen. From the family of a G.I. that brought it back from WW2. The "K" (or 1934-35) on K-date lugers was Hitlers way of getting around Versailles treaty's ban on weapons manufacturing and It was a way to keep allied inspectors confused under the Treaty of Versailles via the "K" designation.
