Description:
ARGENTINE MAUSER MODEL MODELO 1909 SNIPER 7.62x53 RIFLE WITH MOUNTS & RINGS. Serial numbered "F03XX" all matching on stock, cleaning rod, receiver, bolt, etc. Import stamped "Gibbs, Martburg, WV." on right side on receiver in very tiny stamp and obviously rebranded as a sniper by the same with professionally copied 26mm high mounts/rings (see-thru) in the exact style of the originals. Reblued by importer throughout with all original markings crisp including "dutch cap" on all parts including bolt release lever which is cut to reach around the rear scope base and alludes to the fact this batch of rifles may well have been snipers imported without all the sniper accoutrements(Scope/Mounts) and ofcourse it would be fairly easy to make up same for German 26mm scope. Believe imported or sold around 2004. Not sure how many originally imported in this batch or how many snipers were refitted but could not have been many. Stock slightly sanded by importer as well with original cartouche on right side of original buttstock faintly visible. Mint bore and rifling. Prime example of sniper rifle for one willing to seek out the rare Zeiss scopes that were made for these or any 1" tube scope. These were all accurized so should be tack-driver. Left side of receiver marked "Deutsche-Waffen-Und-Munitionsfabriken Berlin". Original rear sight and windage front dovetail. Integral mounts/ rings with see through hole lines up perfectly with open sights if need be. No number on rings which leads me to believe aftermarket manufacture by Navy Arms/Gibbs but maybe original. Made to exact original specifications with locking lever just like the originals. Stock in excellent condition inlet expertly hand done. Comparatively cheap to real 1909 sniper if u can find one.
