This is a second change Combat Masterpiece that was introduced in 1961. It was made before 1967 when the third change model came out. This pistol's serial number is K 536414. This pistol has seen slight use and very light holster wear. The holster wear is confined to the very tip of the muzzle. The pistol has a light drag line between the stops. This Smith & Wesson shows very little shooting use. There is no abuse or alterations to this revolver. The color cased finish on the hammer and trigger is very strong and would rate a 95% condition. The bluing would rate a strong 97% overall condition. The original diamond insert grips are serial numbered to this pistol. The grips are in fine condition with no chips or damage to the checkering. The original box is in good condition and is serial numbered to this revolver. The box has the original waxed wrapping paper still in the box. There are no papers or accessories included with the box. This is a very nice well cared for Smith & Wesson that would make a great shooter and collector pistol! There are a fair amount of 38 Combat Masterpieces out there, the early models however, are difficult to find in nice clean condition with their original box. This pistol is one of them!
