Description:
This is a short tang variation made in 1954. It is fitted with a Redfield receiver mounted rear sight. The front sight is the standard Winchester sight. There are no alterations or aftermarket items on this rifle. The bore is bright and clean. There is some slight blue loss in the carry areas. The action is crisp with good hammer release. The wood does have some scratches and light marring due to carrying in the field. There are no cracks or wood damage. The bluing would rate a 96%. The stock and forend would rate a 94%. This is a great Model 71 for hunting or collecting. This is one of those times that you can collect this gun and shoot it without hurting it's value. Search for Harry Viezens on google.
