Serial Number 9058, John Wilkes, 31 Gerrard Street, London W.: A Very Solid Wilkes 475 #2 Nitro Express with Excellent Bores that was completed 1922, 26" Ejector Chopper Lump Barrels, Dolls Head Extension with a third bite, Side clip action body, Full rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Fold-up night sight, Bushed strikers, Proved at 85 cordite with a 480 grain bullet, No cheekpiece, Sling eyes, 14 7/8" LOP over a 7/8" Silvers pad, The proper and correct Big Bore weight of 11 lbs. 13 oz. on a very stout frame, 75% coverage of scroll engraving, Very nice wood that remains extremely solid and stout with nice color & contrast. This is a very solid rifle that remains very strong on both metal and wood, and the great news are the excellent bores and they nearly look like they did in 1922. It is tight on the face. This is a real double rifle built in the Golden Era with chopper lump barrels, ejectors, side clips, rib extension third bite, big frame, proper weight and it still has excellent bores. It is cased in a modern oak & leather trunk with brass corners. Price Includes (15) five round boxes of original, un-opened Kynoch solids, (4) boxes of unopened Kynamco Ltd ammunition (solid and soft points), and (2) twenty round boxes of modern ammo by Superior Ammunition plus an additional 15 loose rounds for your use at the range.
