EXCELLENT COLT U.S. MODEL 1851 ARMY-NAVY REVOLVER CIRCA 1857. .36 caliber 7 ½” barrel with “ADDRESS SAML. COLT NEW YORK CITY” barrel address. All original and matching including the wedge and loading lever. Serial numbered in the 73,xxx range 11 numbers away from a recorded 10th Illinois Vol. Cavalry Model 1851. Superb condition with 90% plus barrel blue. Even the trigger and screws(all original) have considerable original blue. Frame and loading lever with 50-60% case colors with the balance mousy grey. Cylinder with 100% of the cylinder scene. Frame stamped “COLT’S/PATENT/US”. Mellow unpolished brass straps. Superb grips with crisp “MM” and “WAT” script Govt. Inspector’s cartouches and all the original finish. Perfect working order and with all the cylinder safety pins. Exceptional, brilliant bore and chambers. Seldom seen in this condition.
