Carl Gustafs Swedish Mauser Dated 1908, Caliber 6.5 X 55, Serial Number 2282XX.
I don't think it gets any nicer than this. The gun retains at least 85-87% original blue. The loss appears to be limited to sharp edge silvering, some surface scratches and a general mild blue thinning. There is no rust or pits anywhere. So for a gun that is over105 years old and that has seen two World Wars that's outstanding. All parts match and most are stamped with the Swedish Crown proof. Even the barrel bands, the buttplate and the ball of the bolt. The hardwood stock still has 95%t of the original lacquer. The stock does have numerous little surface nicks and dings. However there are no splits or cracks anywhere. The bore has some mild wear and slight graying, but the rifling is quite strong and distinct. The Ajack 4x 90 scope is at least 90+%original blue finish. The lenses are sharp and clear and the reticle is the three post European sniper style. The scope is stamped, Crown, Nr 0503/1943 E. The brass focusing knob still has the original protective rubber sleeve. Both the scope base and mount are fully matched to the serial number of the gun. The gun comes complete with a leather lens cover, and an original Swedish leather sling, and a front sight cover. There are no import marks anywhere. This is as a fine Swedish sniper that you will see anywhere and should be awesome on the range.
