Metal is excellent overall with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion and no signs of wear - retains 95% ++ original factory nickel with only a few minor spots of oxidation or 'spotting" on the barrel and frame - trigger guard retains 99% blue. Hard rubber grips are excellent and undamaged with sharp logo and checkering and show no wear at all. This early S&W DA large frame revolver in .44 Russian was a popular sidearm in the Old West and was a favorite of such characters as Belle Starr and John Wesley Hardin. This revolver is all original and in excellent ++ condition with nearly all of the original finish finish intact and in perfect working order . a super piece for an early S&W or Old West collection.
