Description:
Very early L.C.Smith 12ga field grade hammer gun.Built in the 1880s,this classic hammer gun has 30" damascus barrels choked full (.043") and full (.043") with .730" bore diameters.The barrels have excellent wall thickness averaging .045".The bores are good with only a little light flaking.The action retains traces of the original case color and has turned a flat gray patina.The barrels lock up tight to the action with no play at all.The stock is a semi pistol grip with a horm buttplate with a bird dog scene.The stock dimensions are 141/4" x 23/4" x 3".There is one very small harline crack behind the right lock that is easily repairable.This is a remarkably tight still shootable gun.A great addition to your collection or to use in the hunting or clays fields.Built prior to 1898,so it can be shipped direct.
