Description:
SOLD..Here is an excellent Antique Smith & Wesson .38 DA with the original box. S/N 351567 and all matching of course. S/N 382022 is the cut off number for antique range on this model so it is made before 1898. Has the standard 3 1/4" barrel. In .38 S&W CF caliber. The finish is outstanding. The barrel has 98% original nickel finish. The cylinder has at least 95%. The frame has 100%. Nice case colors on the hammer and trigger as you can see in the photos. The barrel latch has 98& blue remaining. The blueing on the trigger guard has flaked and just has traces on the sides. The mechanics are excellent. Crsip and tight as a new gun in both SA and DA. The grips are excellent as well with NO chips or cracks and a perfect factory fit. They still show all the fine checkering and luster. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with a small spot of very minor roughness and will probably wipe out to mint. The chambers are mint. Untouched front sight and the screws are all sharp and never messed with. The box is in well above average condition than you will find. Some very minor flakes of finish missing and some light staining but all in all in excellent condition. NO rips or tears and the hinge is excellent with no tears. Has an old brown felt liner in the bottom. Has an old cleaning rod that I do not think is original and a S&W shipping receipt for 3 cents !!!! Wow... That is about all I can say for this one. Would be VERY hard to improve on unles finding one mint and un fired and you won't buy it for this price I am sure. This one is in excellent plus condition and ready for a high end S&W collection.
