Joseph Smythe Boxlock Ejector, circa 1920s era, 5 lbs. 9 oz.. 20 bore, ejectors, 2 3/4" chambers with reproof for 70mm (2 3/4") in 1988, original 28" barrels choked .006 IC and .011 Lt. Mod., classically figured stock at 1 1/2" DAC, 1 3/4" DAH, neutral cast, 14 1/2" LOP over a pad, double triggers, long open radius round knob grip, splinter forend, side panels with drop points, scroll engraved action with "J. F. Smythe Ltd." on both sides of action, automatic safety, Greener crossbolt thru rib extension 3rd bite, concave game rib engraved "J. F. Smythe Ltd. Darlington", Reproved at .622 bore diameters and both measure the same today, min. wall thickness .023 on both. Cased in a period canvas and leather trim luggage case with a reproduction maker's label intact along with case straps and case key. A nice English, trim, light, and sound 20 bore from a lesser known provencial maker that is reproved and ready for 2 3/4" cartridges and as trim and light as most 28 bores.
