#8600, Churchill Gunmakers Ltd., 7 Burt Street, St. James's, London, England: A Churchill Boxlock Ejector 12 Bore Hercules Finest Quality Model Game Gun Made in 1971 with Assist Opening, 28" Ejector Dovetail Lump Barrels, Proved in Birmingham at 3 1/4 Tons with 2 3/4" chambers, The bores at .730 .011 & .012" (Imp.Cyl. & Imp.Cyl.), 2 3/4" chambers, Wall thickness on the right & left barrel at .027", Double triggers, Scalloped frame, Rolled trigger guard edge on both sides, 98% coverage of scroll engraving, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Straight hand stock at 15 1/4" x 1 1/2 x 2" over a 7/8" Silvers pad, Cast-Off for the right hand, 6 lbs. 6 oz., 98% coverage of period scroll engraving, 55% original case colors remain, The original barrel blue at 88-90%, The stock finish remains at 88%, The checkering remains at 96%, The barrels are excellent inside and out. Churchill died in 1910 & Robert Churchill died in 1958. In 1960 Atkin, Grant & Lang were operating on 7 Bury Street and by 1971 the firm was operating as Churchill, Atkin, Grant & Lang at 7 Bury Street (The address of this Gun) and in 1976 the business was moved to 61 Pall Mall, St James's. E.J. Churchill Gunmakers, restarted in 1985 by Mr. Don Masters, and to this day is on the West Wycombe Estate and have been there since the late 1980s.
