Description:
Serial #07752N, .303 Blank, 25” barrel with a fine bore that has a small amount of frosting within the grooves. This is an Ishapore-made, 1963 dated rifle and has retained about 80-85% of the original blue finish on the metal with some fading and wear along the exposed edges and projections, as well as along the handle and bearing surfaces of the matching numbered bolt. The typically blocky Indian nosecap is also numbered to the gun, as is the underside of the forend, and both the rear sight and protector “ears” have been removed. The forend as well as the handguards and “S^A/I” marked buttstock have been arsenal refinished to very good condition with only scattered small handling marks and surface blemishes as well as the illegible remnants of a small rack number in white on the left side and a large “LT” line throwing mark on the right. A single unnumbered magazine is included which has a commensurate amount of blue remaining and the original slotted brass and copper line rod is included. The heavy flared tip is marked “I N/D” around the edge, and has a 1944 date stamp. This is a great example of a seldom seen line throwing gun and is in very good-near fine condition overall. {Ref. “India's Enfields” 4th Edition by Robert Edwards, 2003} FFL or C&R
