Description:
Serial #5-366, 25mm Flare, 4” part octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very nice example of a scarce A.H. Fox-made flare pistol and has an overall bright brass patina, but with some mellow ruddy undertones forming throughout. There are numerous scattered impact marks and surface scratches and the large hammer and side-lever have flaked areas of an old applied finish over the faded original blue. The walnut grips have been smoothed over during the period of use with a painted rack number on the left side (“15”), numerous old handling marks and minor surface blemishes, and a stable, vertical hairline crack at the top of the left panel. The lock-up is tight and the pistol is in verygood-near fine shape overall. This is a very nice Fox-made flare gun.
