This is a rare 32-40 caliber Winchester Model 1894 Round Barrel
Manufactured in 1898. The serial number is 50XXX, which makes it a true antique in the most rare caliber.
This model and caliber was the favorite of John Wayne, and this piece comes with two boxes of original John Wayne commemorative ammo.
Nearly 50 years ago, this rifle was refinished by Winchester at their Connecticut factory to Like New condition. The coloring and grain of the wood on the stock are intact as is indiciative of Winchester refinishing. The rifling is excellent, there is not sign of pitting.
This gun has not been fired since it was refinished by Winchester. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER OF THIS QUALITY IN THIS CALIBER WITH SUCH A LOW SERIAL NUMBER.
