Description:
Very interesting English proofed Hudson Bay marked fowler in 20ga. with a 36" long barrel choked at FULL, used by trappers, and hunters in the 19th century. Has no front sight, and the rear sight slot was filled with pewter. Metal parts including the chisel hand engraved trigger guard are a soft grey. The trade lock named: PARTRIDGE works good, and the nipple is peened at the top from heavy use. The European hard wood stock is good with smooth wear and a slight small crack at the rear of the lock about 1/4" long. Top of the barrel has a seated wold (Hudson Bay Proof Mark) and two Birmingham proof markses with an old oak plain ram-rod with no tip. A good decorative wall hanger with some interesting history!
