U.S. Martial Colt 1851 Navy .36 caliber revolver. Made in 1856 with a 7½” barrel. Metal has a smooth brown patina. Gun is all matching except for loading lever. Barrel has rear sight added in front of the barrel address. Grips have had a coat of varnish added during the period of use. This is an “army-navy” which means this is a Colt 1851 Navy purchased and issued to the U.S. Army. These were bought in limited quantities and the survival right is not very high, so this is a fairly scarce gun.
