Description:
Weatherby Mark V Deluxe +Burris Scope .300 Weatherby Magnum. A South Gate, Calif., Made in Japan manufactured Mark V with a 26" barrel, deluxe walnut stock and a Burris 3x9x40mm scope with duplex reticle. The rifle and scope package is in excellent condition, the high gloss blue metal finish is in new condition and the stock is in excellent condition apart from some minor marks, it looks new. The marks described in the following sounds way worse than they are and most folks wouldn't notice them unless the rifle was scrutinized closely. There are three tiny little dings next to each other on the right side three quarters of an inch below the front receiver ring, the three marks combined measure a mear 1/4 inch by 1/16 of an inch, they are so small and shallow you have to catch the light right to see them (they do not show up in the photos). The forend cap also has a number of tiny little 3/16" scratches/checking. (if you are familar with Weatherbys and Brownings, they look like super thin scratches and are called checking in the gun industry. Its a condition where the high gloss finish is a bit brittle for the wood and as the wood contracts and expand naturally, depending on wet or dry climate and seasons, the glossy finish is stressed and thin cracks appear in the finish. This is a common ailment of Weatherbys & Brownings, especially Belgium made guns). The rest of the stock's finish has none of this checking. If it weren't for the "marks" in the wood the rifle and scope package would have been price $200 more.
