Description:
This is a O/U 28ga shotgun. There were about 150 possible Perazzi Model MX20 Pachmayr special order guns made. Unique about these is that they are a round frame unlike the MX20's of later manufacture. Slightly lighter. All were custom engraved by Angelo Galeazzi. About 90% were 20 gauge with choke tubes. 4-5 were 28ga and the same for .410. No chokes for these two gauges as choke tubes for them were not available yet. This gun is about 98% overall, 100% blue on the barrel, vent top rib, choked IC/Mod, single selective fixed trigger, makers name in gold. Wood is 4A with no visible marks. Schnabel forend. Original case. Now this 20ga barrel has a different serial number and so marked with "MTR" which means stock or inventory barrel. It was either added at the factory to become a 28 ga. or at Pachmayr. As manager of Pachmayr and seller of about 90% of all these guns I do not recall it being fitted there. So we can say it was done at the factory with a stock barrel and as former VP of Perazzi I can tell you that is the way it was done. Also it could have been one of a couple of two barrel sets in which the added barrel would have another number as well. So rare bird any way you want to look at it on many levels.
