Description:
Wm. Evans Magnum Mauser in 404 Caliber. Rifle Has Been Restocked by Evans.
Restocking was done at the same time that the Holland style scope mounts were added.
Also included it the original stock, which is in very good condition and fully useable.
No surprise that the new stock has a higher comb to accommodate scope usage. Safety has
been updated to a three position Model 70 style. trigger breaks crisp at 4 1/8 lbs. Bore
is very good to excellent. London style reblack is virtually all there. Action is glass smooth.
Balance is perfect at 9 lbs. - even. You can tell as soon as you pick the rifle up that it
comes from a maker that knows what they are doing. Originally built in 1915; it is ready
for another several generations of service.
