Remington Model 1861 Navy,  “Old Model Navy” mfg. 1862 in .36 caliber percussion, 7 3/8” Octagonal barrel, cone sight, serial number 18,XXX & martially marked with US Navy Anchor. Total production limited to 7,000. In 1875 Navy contracted with Remington to convert 1,000 to .38 caliber 6 shot center-fire. Top of barrel stamped, “PATENTED DEC 17TH 1861/MANUFATURED BY REMINGTONS ILION. NY. Inspector marks are visible on various parts of the revolver including trigger plate, barrel, and side of frame. Bore is in good condition as well as cylinders. Finish is a mixed blue and grey patina with some scratches present from use. Overall a nice rare Civil War era Remington that would make a great addition to any collection.
