Description:
1830's half stock, black powder, percussion rifle. Single 36" barrel muzzle load with packing rod and decorative trigger guard. Rifle is thought to be of English origin. Markings/stamp ID are located on underside of the barrel which has been described as a Damask twist type. The rifle is unique with it's folkart carved stock which appears to be a beared hunter with ivory insets for eyes. All componants are original except for the hammer screw. The descripiton is primarliy based on hands-on critiques from various dealers and antique gun enthusiasts.
