Description:
1830's half stock, black powder, percussion rifle.  Single 36" barrel muzzle load with packing rod and decorative trigger guard.  Rifle is thought to be of English origin.  Markings/stamp ID are located on underside of the barrel which has been described as a Damask twist type.  The rifle is unique with it's folkart carved stock which appears to be a beared hunter with ivory insets for eyes.  All componants are original except for the hammer screw.  The descripiton is primarliy based on hands-on critiques from various dealers and antique gun enthusiasts.  We will continue to update the listing with any new definative informtion as it becomes avaiable. Please emial with any questions or requests for additional information or photos.
