Description:
Up for your concideration a fairly rare Ruger HAWKEYE 256 win mag single action. Its condition is just below avid collector condition but is very much average for its age. The frame is turning plum in color.There are a few nicks and dings as shown in the pictures. Included in the sale is a partial box of factory ammo filled with 75grain reloads.
This is a awsome type of varmit weapon. It is very unique in its design from Ruger. A total of just over 3000 of these were made. the majority of them in 1963, and only a couple hundred in 1964. They are getting very hard to acquire in any condition.
The 256 calibre is a necked down 357 mag that runs over 2000 ft/sec. It is factory drilled and taped for a scope if desired. With the sight all the way up it will shoot some 400 yards on target. That is amazing. Hate to let it go but I have had some wind damage to the roof and I need to repair it.
