Description:
#4764 Winchester 1873 OBFMCB, 44WCF with surprisingly fine bore (about a 9+ on a scale of 10) and smooth tight action. Serial numbered in the 238XXX range, (1887). The exterior of this rifle has been cleaned to semi-bright, most likely to remove rust and shallow pitting, some traces of which remain along the edge of the forestock. The metal overall is otherwise very crisp-edged and devoid of any serious damage or blemishes. The wood is also well above average, although on close inspection, it is evident that the buttstock is an old replacement (but a good one, the wood just being a little “proud” at the tangs) . Standard sights. Rare to find a “no-finish” ’73 with such a fine, bright bore! About “VG” $2250
