Sharps Meacham Conversion .45-70 caliber rifle. Very interesting conversion. Civil War Sharps carbine frame that has been converted to cartridge using a Sharps factory barrel and more than likely done by Meacham in St. Louis. Gun is in .45-70 and has a dark bore. There is an even brown patina on the metal. Tang sight is a modern replacement while rear and front sights are original. Action locks up tight and functions properly. Gun has double set triggers. The stock has a unique patch box that actually stores cartridges. Very neat colorful Sharps that likely saw Western use!
