The rifle weights 8 lbs as it is. David started with the metalwork and added a nice rust blue finish, then completed the stock from a blank, with ebony forend and grip caps and a Decellerator recoil pad. I'm not sure what LPI the checkering is, but it's about as tight as I've seen. The rifle shoots 1/2 to 3/4" MOA with 140 to 160gr bullets. The 284 Winchester was the original "Short Mag"-style cartridge, meant to reproduce 280 Remington ballistics in a short action. It was a favorite of custom builders making light mountain rifles for Sheep hunters. The sale includes almost 100 rounds of 284 Win ammunition. Get this custom rifle for $1,400 less than the cost of Christman's stock work alone. SOLD |
