The Home Guard were volunteers and were issued these rifles. These are rather hard to come by since after the war ended these were offered for sale to the volunteers. I would guess that most hunters and trappers that had volunteered would have opted to buy them. They don't come on the market all that often. This one is in relatively good cond. Bbl has some blue. The rest is turning slightly. Receiver is mostly greyed out. Some wear to the mag tube. Stock has been lightly refinished. Markings still do show. The Home Guard guns had a sling either mounted on the side like this one or on the bottom. Nice action. VG bore. These guns have an interesting history and would make a good addition to a 94 collection. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
