Description:
S# AWP 4757, 38 special, 2 inch barrel, bright excellent bore. This little 1987 built revolver has a very interesting history. 3670 of these were purchased by the New York City Police Dept for private sale to officers . 2417 were sold before the gun was removed from the authorized weapons list. These originally shipped with no hammer spur. S+W bought back 1253 unsold guns and offered a full refund plus a $25.00 gift certificate for the used ones. Smith installed regular hammers and then resold them as new or used. This is one of the used guns. It remains in excellent condition with a light turn ring on cylinder and a few light scratches. Stocks look great with almost no signs of use. The yoke cutout shows N.Y.-1 stamping over a New York Police examination mark. This comes in a correct blue box with New York City Police Department shipping sticker o one end and a S+W used gun product sticker on other with matching numbers on both stickers.
