this is a very early & RARE 1st model, as it has a BULLS REAR IRON SIGHT WITH ADJUSTABLE WINDAGE no other officerrs model ive seen has this rear sight feature, also it has single digit #s on sharps rear tang sight, ALSO it has the finest figured stock of any officers model ive seen about 30 rifles not even close to the figure / burl / tiger walnut stock, theres a letter in frasca"s SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR that discribes a gun ordered for Officer Bennet for Gen. Vincent in New Hamshire. it has plain finish handsome stock fine sights and hair trigger just like early discription in frasca" book. set trigger has been updated to the third improved model trigger and has a low serial# on that also. the cleaning rod is not present. this rifle has been used for its all intended purpose and still shoots fine ,the bore slug measures .461 as to make match grade ammo from this measurement as i have fired this fine rifle and hunted in Maine with it. all offers considered, thhanks Jim
