Description:
SCHOFIELD, Smith & Wesson, the barrel cut to 4 1/2” has a good bore which shows strong evident rifling but with minor pitting. The finish on this Original 1875 Revolver is an overall plum brown patina with the expected minor dings and handling marks and light pinprick pitting.

The hammer and the trigger are uncharacteristically good, the hammer with vibrant color case-hardening and the trigger showing excellent straw temper. The smooth walnut grips rate good, they are worn, retaining minor dings and handling marks. The left grip shows a repair to a full-length crack and the right grip has “WF & Co. Ex/5384” stamped on its interior. The right front barrel lug is marked in similar fashion “WF & Co. Ex 5384”, the “U.S.” remains readable on the butt and the gun operates well mechanically...
