Description:
S# 32717, 32 cal, 26 inch Octagon barrel, bright excellent bore. This 1889 built rifle remains in excellent condition with over 90% brilliant blue on frame. The lower tang has worn to a grey color and sides show a few scratches. The bolt retains beautiful fire blue on sides with areas of silvering from wear. Barrel shows a few dings and scratches with about 90% blue fading a little in spots and having silvered on high edges and around muzzle. Mag tube has about 50% blue with bottom faded to brown. Hammer retains 80% strong case colors, top of thumbpiece is now grey. Butplate has traces of case colors with a mostly grey patina. Wood has a few light marks from use and remains sound. Stocks have 95% oil finish with sharp checkering on forend showing typical overruns and lighter areas around escutions. All markings remain crisp and clear, sights are original, and gun is not altered in any way. A spectacular colt lightning with a great bore. Antique
