Original Holster and belt Vintage 1890. Civilian holster from the Old West era. The classic contour of this holster makes it one or the most attractive holsters styles ever made. This was a popular civilian style of the 1870's, 80's and 90's. and beyond. Double loop style with a sewn closed toe. Made of light weight russet colored leather, with roller design along the main seam and around the top of the pouch. Later in its time some cowboy added spots, maybe for a Wild West Show. This holster could be worn as right hand draw or cross draw. It fits a 1873 Colt Single Action Army with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. The back of the pouch is marked 30 probable the catalog number and 44 the caliber for .44-40 WCF and below that 7 1/2 for the barrel length. The leather is soft and very pliable, and could be use for posing a photograph, but I see it mostly for displaying with you original vintage Colt or you could just use it, but that's up to you. The pouch has been carefully cut to allow better access to the trigger guard. All the stitches are strong and intact. The belt has the makers mark "Rivol" and the catalog number 3205M2 also the number 30, I believe that is the caliber for .30-30. It does however hold .38-40 ammo. There are 25 bullet loops.
