Remington 700 short action built in to a Heavy Varmint class Benchrest rifle, chambered by the most popular, 6mm PPC cartridge. This 6PPC has a .263 Neck Diameter. The gun was made by Ray Smith of Olathe, Kansas. Ray was quite a well known varmint and Benchrest shooter as well as a precision rifle make during his lifetime. The stock was fabricated by the gentleman who had it built and as you can see it was well done from a metal and wood perspective. The 24” barrel is 11/16” diameter at the crown but I do not know who the maker is. The trigger appears to be a Jewel 2 oz. and the scope is a Leupold Competition Series 45 x 45mm with fine crosshair reticle. The gun weighs 13 lbs. 11 oz.
