Description:
This is a fairly special rifle. A friend of mine(best rifleman I personally know) bought this gun in unfired condition in about 1999-2000. He fired it seven times with open sights. In 2003 he hit a rough patch and sold me the gun. About two months later I ran into this awesome scope. I bought some new bases and rings and had my local gunsmith mount and bore sight the scope. I took it out to the gun club to the rifle range. It took me three shots to find zero. I shot two 5 shot groups. Using a box of cheap factory ammo I had grabbed the groups were just a hair over 1". I know it will do better with better ammo or hand loads. The gun has been shot exactly 20 times. With the scope it weighs just over 11 pounds.
The scope is a Leupold VarX3 6.5-20 50mm Long Range. It has a 30mm tube, an external knob adjustable parallax. The cross hairs are large with fine cross hairs in the middle with mil s . I just looked it up. Even w/o the mil s the discount price is $999.
I can only find two small flaws on the rifle. There is a minute mark in the blue at the muzzle. There is a tiny ding in the wood just in front of the butt plate. The bolt is correctly marked. There are pix of all of this. The chamber, bore, and trigger pull are all right. There are no modifications anywhere.
