Syracuse Arms Co. 16 Gauge A1 Special Trap, serial number 33966. This fine American double is highly engraved with woodcock, quail and an English Setter on the trigger guard bow along with delicate scroll and borders. Most of the original vivid case color remains as well as fine Damascus pattern on the 28" barrels that are choked Improved Modified and Modified (.643). The wood is original, highly figured and finely checkered. Length of pull of 14 1/8" from the front trigger over the ORIGINAL hard rubber butt plate. This great shotgun features selective ejectors that can be turned off by sliding the lever on the forend. This, and the exteme high quality and attention to detail make these Frank Hollenback designed shotguns rare and unique. Tight on hinge and on face, and all mechanics look to be in great shape. The bores are very nice with one very small ding in the right barrel about 7inches back from the muzzle. There is also a very small ornamental chip from the tip of the left barrel lug. Drop at comb is 1 1/2 inches and drop at heel is 3 inches. Weight is 6 pounds 4 ounces.
