Description:
Holland & Holland .375 cal. Express Double Rifle, 26" barrels feature quarter rib with one standing and three folding leaf sights. Double triggers, extractors. Per Holland & Holland records, built in 1905. The backaction sidelock features bushed pins and is fully engraved in an early heavy scroll with "Holland & Holland" in the middle of the locks. The pistol grip stock features a trap grip cap, classic cheekpiece and the over-the-comb topstrap. Measures 14-1/2" to the original buttplate. The frame and lockplates retain a wonderful dark patina mixing with case color. Chambered for the .375 2-1/2" flanged nitro express and prooved for 40 grains cordite and a 320 max bullet. The rifle has an additional set of 20 ga., 28" Austrian barrels which appear to have been fitted to this gun the late 1960s. The ballistics would suggest that this is a superior choice for any North American game with the heavy bullet and excellent sectional density, similar in power to the .358 Winchester. The additional 20 ga. barrels gives one the versatility to do a bit of wingshooting after you have taken your trophy boar! Weighs 9-1/2 lbs. with the rifle barrels and 7lbs with the 20 ga. shotgun barrels. Complete in a heavy leather trunk case.
