Description:
.69 caliber, arsenal altered to 33 inch barrel, bayonet lug relocated, stock altered to length, sling swivels relocated, dated 1805 on lock, 1806 on barrel tang, correct oval cartouche on right side of stock.
1000 1795 muskets received this alteration about 1815.  Most were sold to South American interests.  A few were sent to West Point. A seldom encountered Springfield variation.
Bore is dark with black powder oxidation near muzzle, metal is deep brown patina, stock shows scattered nicks and dings, mechanically very good.
