#153678. PENDING SALE !!! Pachmayr custom Winchester Mod 70, chambered in 458 Lott. The rifle was built for Bruce Baker then president of Pachmayr gun work. He used it in Africa on elephants and buffalo.
He is pictured with the rifle in Craig Boddington’s Safari rifles book.
22” barrel , with chamber and bore in excellent condition. Island rear sight with one standing one folding, bended front ramp with silver bead and small flip up moon sight.
Bluing is in 98% condition , as is the very nice engraving. A tasteful mix of scroll , crisp gold inlays and a bull elephant gold inlaid on a silver background on the florplate.
Nice stock and checkering in 95% condition , 13 7/8” LOP over a 1” pad . The rifle points well . Engraved and gold inlaid grip cap, ebony forend tip, jeweled bolt and Pachmayr signature
Sling swivels. The magazine will hold four cartridges down and feed smoothly. The trigger is set at 4 pounds.
If you find a nicer African bolt rifle, in a better caliber, for less money; by all means , buy it.
