Description:
SOLD...Antique Smith & Wesson 1 1/2 1st model or Old Model. This gun is in excellent condition. Standard 3 1/2" barrel. 32 RF caliber. S/N 12813 and all matching assembly numbers of course. This model made only about 3 years from 1865 to 1868. The finish is outstanding as you can see in the photos. The barrel has about 80% bright blue and just thinning in spots. The frame has 80% blue also but has thinned out on the front and rear grip straps to a gray patina as you can see in the photo. The cylinder blue has faded to a medium brown patina. Still bright blue in the chambers !!!! The bore is very good with strong rifling and some minor roughness as can be expected. Nothing bad at all and no big pits. The mechanics are excellent as well. Absolutely NO wobble at the hinge and is tight as new. NO wobble to the cylinder either up or down or side to side play. NO front to rear play at all on the cylinder like most you will find in this model.. Crisp and tight as a new gun everywhere. The markings are excellent  The grips are excellent as well and still have about 85% original varnish. NO cracks or chips and a perfect factory fit numbered to the gun of course. The case colors on the hammer have faded out to a silver color. The only thing I can see is the ejector rod under the barrel looks like MAYBE an old replacement?? It functions like it should but just does not look like others I have seen. It maybe from another model tip up Smith also. It fits perfectly tight with no issues. I suppose it does detract a little so I am pricing this gun with this in mind compared to others in this same condition I see for sale. This gun is much better than the beat up and loose gray brown ones you see for sale at $400 to $500. No it is not cheap but well worth the investment and is just a much better gun than you normally will find. Hard to find these with this much blue remamining in this price range. I think you will be very pleased with this one or your money back !!! Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. $15 insured shipping on this one.
