Description:
Serial #71368, 9mm Para., 4 5/8” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a simply stunning, 1954 manufactured pistol that has full coverage floral scroll engraving with virtually all of the excellent re-applied blue finish remaining, and the trigger retaining a commensurate amount of the original gold finish. The New York style engraving is well executed (unfortunately there is no artist signature) with smooth curves, tight loops, and delicate crosshatched background field and shading. The grips are even nicer and are contoured walnut with intricate silver wire and plate inlays with a consistent vine and leaves motif on both panels as well as an eagle head on the left and a rearing cobra on the right. The grips are in excellent condition and exhibit only some very minor handling marks and a trace of flaking varnish around the screwhead on the right side. The pistol comes with a single unmarked magazine and is housed in an original Browning pistol rug. This is a spectacular engraved and embellished pistol that would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
