Description:
S# 9305, 38 W.C.F., 24 inch barrel, bright very good bore with just a few scattered tiny areas of erosion. Cody Sheet states the serial number was applied on Feb. 6th 1893 and was shipped April 12th 1893 with Octagon Barrel in .38 caliber and a plain trigger. Rifle remains in fine condition with over 70% blue on receiver showing silvering on high edges and on belly. Barrel also has about 70% blue fading brown towards muzzle, mostly on left side. Mag tube retains 50% blue with balance faded brown. Butplate has silvered and now shows light staining. Wood shows typical scratches and dings with a little oil wiped on long ago. A very tine sliver is missing on each side at top of receiver, these are not even a quarter inch long. Sights are original, hammer is the early type with widows peak. Antique.
