Really a very lovely and very functional varmint rifle by this well-respected and highly sought-after maker. The rifle is of course equipped with a Jaeger adjustable trigger with side safety and has a one-piece steel Redfield base which mounts 1” rings and a Bausch & Lomb Elite 400 telescopic sight. The sight is 6-24X with an adjustable objective and crisp clear optics with duplex reticle.
The metal surfaces retain about 98-99% original maker blue. The bottom metal shows a lovely quality loose flowing Germanic scroll and top-quality borderline gold inlay with a stunning depiction of a bobcat, also in gold. The bolt body is bright and nicely jeweled as is the extractor and magazine follower; the bolt knob is nicely 4-panel checkered. There is a beautiful blued steel gripcap with the same top-quality loose flowing scroll and floral decoration with the same lovely gold wire border inlay.
The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip Monte Carlo buttstock rates excellent with a flared left-side cheekpiece with shadow line. The rifle features flawlessly-executed wrap-around checkered panels at the grip and at the forearm. The rifle is equipped with QD sling swivel studs and there is an oval monogram plate along the toeline which is engraved with what appears to be a letter “B”. A 1” leather rifle sling with swivels is included.
