A nice original example of the popular "High Wall" Winchester single shot, this 30 inch octagon barrel rifle was manufactured in 1888. While very little finish remains, the bore is good, the action smooth, and the metal surfaces have a pleasing gery-brown patina. It is chambered for the .38 WCF, or 38/40 cartridge, which was very popular in the Model 1873 Winchester and the Colt Single Action Army revolver.
